Mask Liner comparison

Post by Josiah » Thu Jan 18, 2018 6:49 am

I have recently compared RemZzzs and Silent Night mask liners with my Resmed F20 Fullface mask. My conclusion, admittedly based on using each liner for three nights has been that Silent Night wins hands down in the important variable of leak prevention. I'm frankly baffled as to why the results were so one sided. The RemZzzs simply did nothing to reduce leaks whereas the Silent Night gave me the lowest leak numbers I've ever had.

What do you suppose is the difference between the two? Is it the size or the type of material being used? Would it be the shape that the material is cut?
I would be interested in hear what the difference would be between the two.
What was the leak rate showing on sleepy head between the two?

Somebody once suggested I could tear a useful shape out of a folded Viva paper towel.
It works, BTW.
Good to know in an emergency.

The Silent Night liner is a tad thicker perhaps slightly quilted, it also attaches to the mask with sticky tabs. The RemZzzz is held in place just by the pressure of the mask. With the RemZzzz I was over the SH leak redline 48% of the time and with the Silent Night it was 2%. Perhaps there might have been a wrinkle in my RemZzzz liner??

I tried the Remzzz liners when I first started. Once the mask is on, you have to stretch the liner out. If you are not careful, you can pull it out from under the mask in some locations which could cause leakage. Personally, I preferred the liners I mad my self out of an old, well-used tee shirt.
