SD card for ResMed 10

Post by Josiah » Fri Jan 05, 2018 6:24 am

My new ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet didn't come with a SD card. I see where I can buy an SD card with Resmed printed on it online ostensibly meant for my machine OR can I just use a fresh Scandisk SD card?

I'm almost sure you can use a common sd card (Not necessary Resmed trademarks)

You can even use a stale one.

Any SD card will work. Your machine came with one, but your DME probably took it out. When the DME brought my wife's machine to the house, the SD card was in a folder inside of the carrying case.

I think you're right. The slot sure looks empty to me and I searched through the carrying case and and all the paper work she gave me. No SD card.

You are correct. Any SD card will work. I use the Sandisk on the exact same machine.

Also, you need an SD Card reader. If youe PC does not have an SD slot, you need an SD Card Reader. I use this one, only $10.00. Works great.

The SD card is part of the package - if the DME kept it, they may be trying to get you tied to them through the cellular connection. Personally, I would do what I could to force them to provide the missing card (if they say they can't or won't unless they sell it to you, they are scamming - they got it from your kit in the first place and paid nothing for it). In doing this they may be attempting to add to the amount they bill your insurance for a monitoring service only you can determine you want or not. It is your choice how you want to deal with your therapy, not the DME's. If it falls back to you to get a card capacity is not too critical - even a 2 or 4 GB card is more than sufficient for many months of data. In any case, if you are using SH, you have a backup of the card there. If you fall into the practice of taking your card with you to a doctor's visit always upload the card to SH immediately before the visit (they may well format the card after reading it leaving you with all that data gone if it has not been backed up - either by importing to SH or simply copying the card).
