I have a PR System One Auto (model 560) that has been my daily-driver since April 2010. I rarely check the data on it but today, I did, using sleepyhead 0.93. What I found was that the machine has collected no data in the last two months and over the last 18 months has several periods of between 1 and about 10 days at a time with data missing from it's records.
Also, my pressures are set with a minimum of 7.5 and max of 15 cm/H20. On occasion, sleepyhead shows pressures being delivered that are at 6.25 cm/H20 which is outside the range set on the machine!
Finally, I note that the machine does not always give the usual beep on shut down: most days it beeps as normal, sometimes it's silent and other times it gives 3 or 4 quick beeps. But it always shuts down. I have no records of when these instances have happened and therefore cannot correlate them with the periods of missing data.
I have noticed no other problems with this apap and feel great each morning. So I have no reason to suspect that I have been missing therapy with it.
My questions to the cloud:
1) does anyone have experience with these problems with their System One? If yes, how did you resolve it?
2) is there writing on the wall that it's time to buy a new apap or is there a simple fix for this problem? and
3) is there a more recent version of sleepyhead that I can download?
Thanks to all who can shed some light on this issue.
And by the way, yes, I do have a backup machine in good working order.

Re: PR System One Auto - problems
Are you by chance using the Flex exhale relief option?
That might account for the lower than minimum setting that SleepyHead is showing. Is the minimum pressure statistic where you are seeing the 6.25?
Flex relief isn't always a direct per cm reduction.....it can be a fraction of a whole number.
That said...does sound like it is getting a bit tired.

Thanks Den. Looks like my current Sleepyhead version 0.93 is a bit old.
I'm workin' on it.

Yes, I do use the flex setting. This normally does not show up on the Sleepyhead pressure-graph and I doubt it's an explanation.
The minimum pressure at 6.25 shows up on the Sleepyhead graph line of pressure delivered. It's as though my normal minimum setting of 7.5 has been reset to 6.25 for the entire night, with pressure increases being added from that new baseline. This doesn't happen every night : I would say maybe 1 night in 10 over the last 6 months or so.
I also do not use the ramp function. It has occurred to me that this might be the problem if the machine somehow is slipping into it on its own. That explanation is a stretch, however.
I guess I'm hoping that the problem is software related, or maybe a bad data card or something similar. I reformatted the card (backed it up, first) and will try it again for a few nights to see what I get. If that doesn't work, I'll be looking for a new machine.
I'm workin' on it.

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Re: PR System One Auto - problems
With the history of blank data reports (not recording any data) and the weird inconsistent pressure graphs...my first thought is the data recording components of the machine are dying. This can be a separate dying process from the physical blowing of the air dying process.
Meaning the data yielded is suspect which unfortunately makes us wonder if the blowing of the air itself is still functioning as it is supposed to.
The data shown in SH or even Encore is going to be questionable in all aspects.
You could use a manometer to verify the blowing of the air thing but maybe it is time to retire this aging friend and move on to the spare.
I suspect it is most likely just an aging of the data writing module/software and the machine probably is still functioning like it is supposed to but without accurate data it doesn't give us anything to rely upon and we need to trust our machines.
The data writing module/software stuff can be replaced but it's going to cost more than the machine is actually worth to have it gone through and repaired and tested.
