Surgery & CPAP
Surgery & CPAP
Hey folks, just found out I'm having surgery in January. The doc said I would probably have a vacuum tube in my nose for 2-3 days. I told him I wore a cpap mask, he said bring it...question, how in the world can I wear my FFM with a tube sticking out my nose?? Any solutions will be helpful, not looking forward to it...

Re: Surgery & CPAP
Vacuum tube to draw liquid out of you?
Once taped to your face, it should provide very little interference.
They should know how to handle it.
Foam shims, whatever.
Do not worry. That is THEIR job.

Re: Surgery & CPAP
Be prepared for a less than perfect leak report. and thus maybe less than optimal therapy due to leak but it would still be better than no therapy.
Tight enough for a perfect seal will likely compress any tubing (if it will even compress that much) so much you would lose the vacuum properties which may or may not be a deal breaker.

They should be able to pack and tape the tube so you can get a seal. The nurses will know, it would be common enough.
