How do CPAPers deal with a full blown head cold? Antihistamines tend to raise blood pressure, but so does OSA.
A reasonable question, and as one might expect, there are many strats that work for different apneic patients.
I do not take decongestants (why raise my bp?) and I do not take antihistamines (as these are a no-no for guys of my age with 60+ yr old you-know-what glands).
Even with a cold, I can usually do okay with just my nasal mask, but on some occasions, I do need to go ff mask (say a half dozen times in 10 years), and I keep one clean and on hand for any contingency. I'm not as comfy w the ff, in fact I dislike it; but it does the trick, so I put up with it.
