Disconnect or not?
I have been using my P10 with the Climateline Air hose and disconnecting the mask from the hose every day. I now notice the hose connector is not as snug as it should be. I replaced the hose and will keep the worn one as a spare.
It seems a waste to say the heated hose is bad due to a worn end. Occasionally the hose had=s become disconnected during the night. What do others do? I know some masks have a separate disconnect with a part still connected to the hose. The P 10 just has a small hose permanently fastened to the frame.
How often to people replace their parts? The DME (LinDontCare), of course, says the pillow should be replaced every 2 weeks by my insurance only allows one a month. I have used mine for several months, probably a little too long.
There is an air filter for the S10 I have replaced a couple of times too. I initially made the mistake of using my DME's auto supply. The first month, they sent a new humidifier tank. AFAIK, it only needs replacing due to age since I use distilled water almost exclusively. I quickly canceled that service since I pay 20% of the allowed insurance cost for any supplies.
Thanks for any useful experiences.
Merry Christmas to all.

Re: Disconnect or not?
Why are you disconnecting the mask from the long hose daily? Only time I disconnect is when I wash the entire frame and short hose..and that's maybe once a month or so.
Nasal pillows...I get 6 to 10 months of use out of one nasal pillow (wash it maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks) and usually it gets replaced more because it is a bit "aged" looking (yellow from exposure to the air) than leaking.
I do change the filters about every 2 weeks or as needed but I use a hypo allergenic fine filter because it is what I prefer and I live out in the country in a very old farmhouse and it's dusty everywhere out here and I have pets besides. My filters get pretty yucky after 2 weeks and especially so now that the furnace is on a lot.
To help the unwanted disconnects from the loose fitting just wrap a couple of layers of tape around the end of the P10 short hose that goes into the heated hose. Play with it a bit..you don't want it too tight but just a little snugger. How much depends on how thick the tape.

It's a different mask, but I use a couple of wraps of teflon tape on all the moving parts and disconnect points on y Quattro FFM. Creates a good seal and eliminates squeaking. Wulfman taught me that years ago.
Good Luck,

Re: Disconnect or not?
I mainly disconnect for ease in stowing during the day. The machine is on my headboard. I wrap the hose around the machine out of the way and place the mask beside it.
My DME supplies a cheap off brand filter. What one do you use in your s10?

Re: Disconnect or not?
Right now I am using a generic fine filter but I do have some ResMed fine filters.
I think what is supplied with the AirSense machines is what I would call a mesh filter...not as fine as either the white fine (or white fine hypo allergenic) filters. I prefer more "fine" filters since my house is a bit "dusty".
https://www.resmed.com/us/en/consumer/s ... genic.html
Hard to find and a bit pricey when found compared to generic hypo filters but there is a difference.
I have both ResMed name brand and generic fine and it takes 2 of the generic to give the the same feel for density as I get with the ResMed between my fingers.
I am toying with ordering from this guy to see if they are name brand ResMed.
2 pk is 4.99 plus S& H most likely.

White fine filter on the left. The other 2 are what I call the mesh filters. If you could feel them you would really notice the difference.

I only disconnect my mask when unavoidable--cleaning or travel mostly.

Those filters say they are for S9 only. I thought S10 used the same filters.Pugsy wrote:Right now I am using a generic fine filter but I do have some ResMed fine filters.

Re: Disconnect or not?
The S9 and the AirSense/AirCurve machines use the same filter. They are interchangeable. I had some old S9 filters left over when I got my AirSense machine and they work just fine.prodigyplace wrote:Those filters say they are for S9 only. I thought S10 used the same filters
It's the same filter.
That web page might have been designed before the AirSense 10 machine was released and back when the choices were S8 and S9 and the S9 filters wouldn't fit on the S8 machine.

My husband has been to that supplier in person to pick up stuff for me. The website description says that those filters are ResMed brand. I'm sure you could just call them on the phone to ask, if you'd like the extra reassurance before ordering.
