C-Flex setting 3 resulting crazy high AHI?

Post by andrasnm » Mon Dec 18, 2017 3:43 pm

I am trying to use my P10 nose pillow, so I have tried to set the Respironix Auto setting to C-Flex to ease my exhale pressure. I got a huge AHI while sleeping apparently quite comfy. I set it back to nothing and I am back to so so normal average. I am using antihistamine therefore I suspect my AHI is off a bit (compared to drug free nights)
Should I try A-Flex or just let it go..
P.S. I am giving up the Dreamstation in Dec 30 anyway.....

They are comfort settings that have little to do with AHI, You need to chase some other guess., use Sleepyhead. Jim

Your machine controls inhalation pressure. Exhalation pressure is determined by Flex. A lower exhalation pressure can increase your AHI. Both pressures are important. If you want a higher EPAP, then turn down Flex or increase IPAP. Only data will tell you which works best.
Without data, I don't know what you mean by "huge AHI"

c-flex is used in straight pressure cpap. a-flex is used in automatic pressure or apap. somehow you're confusing apples and oranges.
