OSA and Insomnia
Re: OSA and Insomnia
I had a bad case of insomnia and anxiety when my machine settings were not optimized. If I could sleep, during the time that I was sleeping I was not getting adequate therapy. I was overtired all day long and early evening. Around 9pm my body would start producing adrenaline and keep me awake for several hours. I would toss and turn until well after midnight until my body shut down. Getting to sleep late would cut into my hours of needed sleep. The cycle would repeat every day and went on for years. Once the forum members helped me optimize my settings it took a couple months and I started feeling more rested throughout the day. My wakefulness didn't start to dip until late in the evening. Now I when I hit the pillow I'm sleeping pretty quick. It also helped to reduce stress and have a more relaxed schedule so that there is more time for proper sleep.

Now that you are not blacking out (shown by having the dreams) the arousals are more obvious... that doesn't mean you weren't being aroused before... you just didn't remember it (sickening I know) ... and yes studies show apnea sufferers (even treated with CPAP, at least in early CPAP usage) have higher creatine levels at night... meaning their energy metabolism is more active at night. but as Pugsy stated... you could also be getting into a deeper sleep due to the therapy, but then more apnea's happen in deep sleep, waking you up... a resolution to this would probably be a higher and more appropriate starting pressure.

Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"
