Humidifer water

I'm going on vacation and am staying overnight at the airport after a late flight picking up the car in the morning. Getting distilled water might be hard without a car. Would purified bottled water work and how much do I need. A liter?

My RT said to use bottled water in a pinch so it should be fine for occasional use . As far as amount just fill up your humidifier and then measure how much you used.

Just use tap water, the *ONLY* real reason to use distilled water is to avoid having mineral deposits build up in the tank, which is easily remedied with a little vinegar soak.

Other bottled waters can be more problematic than plain tap water... better to not bother with them.

And the Airsense tanks only hold about 14 ounces.
About 2 cups, minus a small drinky so you don't go to bed thirsty.

Yes I'm aware that some bottled water adds minerals for taste. I personally don't like drinking those the taste is off..give me just standard purifed water.

Agree. And buildup is minimized if you do not let it go dry. Make sure their is excess water so you can dump the concentrate (and rinse) in the morning.

With tap water you may notice the odor of the chlorine(Cl) that is added to municipal water supplies. The smell goes away a while after you turn on the PAP. If you have the time fill the chamber and let it sit for a time and the Cl will dissipate.

Has anyone used Walgreens Nice brand purified water it doesn't mention anything about adding minerals and might actually be distilled??

Why not contact the mfgr and ask about it - tho' I would thnk if it was distilled, it would say so

Walgreens distilled water is labeled DISTILLED....if it is not labeled that way, it is NOT DISTILLED. For a few nights it really doesn't matter. Just clean the tub when you get back.

Ok will do. I'm just the kind of person who if I clean it with vinegar, ill probably end up smelling it even if its not there. I'm packing distilled water in my suitcase in a sturdy water bottle and hoping for the best.

I rarely clean my humidifier tub...maybe every 3- 6 months. When I do, I use dishwashing detergent.

If all else fails, there's always vodka.
