Remstar M Series Pro card reader & software

Post by digitalgeek » Wed Dec 13, 2006 10:21 am

Hi all,

I just got the Remstar M Series Pro C-Flex CPAP Machine, this is an upgrade. My question is do i need the USB Card Reader Remstar provides? I ask because my laptop has an integrated card reader (for security logons) and was wondering if i can use the same reader. This bring me to the second question, can i download a demo or eval license of the Encore software to test if my card reader actually works?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Does your machine specifically say "REMstar Pro" on it? Not sure what you mean by "upgrade".

Yes.
No.
No.

You specifically need the MAKO/Infineer DT3500 cardreader and Encore Pro 1.6i software. (assuming that you have either the M Series Pro or Auto)

Best wishes,

I have a REMstar PRO 2 w/C-FLEX. Can you get more than just compliance data off this model. I was intrested in buying the reader and Encore software but if I can only track the basics I don't see the point.

Thanks Den. My doctor just had me use the Auto for a week to see if I needed to increase pressure and I was impressed with the amount of info that they were able to pull off. When I take my card in they only pull of Usage. I want to manage/monitor/my condition more frequently than my annual visit.

Does the software provide an explanation of the results and norms/ideal readings?

Well......it reports the results.....the rest is kind of a "Your Mileage May Vary" situation. When tracked over time, it shows "norms" and averages. The "ideal" goal is to get all of the numbers as low as possible......AHI, Snores, Leaks, etc. At least, when you have the software you can tweak your settings to get the optimal therapy from the machine and from/for your body.

Best wishes,

Den

You need to get them to find the full details options on the report when they generate it.

After they download the card, and go to open the compliance data, there are two report options choices - first is full details versus summary - the second is date range.

Get them to check the full details spot. It means they actually have to click on the button as default is just compliance.

For the sake of posterity, the smart card for REMstar machines (M series or not) looks like this:

It's rather unlikely that any built in card reader will read this type of smart card.
