Hi JPeters,
Welcome, and I hope that you come back.
Looking at your reports I would say that you are doing very well indeed in terms of length of time on CPAP during the night. Some very long sessions there, with no breaks, and this is excellent for someone just starting out.
Your leak rate and data look better with the N20 than the F20. Seems you have a winner with the N20. (You said P20 but I think you mean N20? Or P10? ) Takes a while to get used to the lingo.
You mention being concerned about possibly having a REM sleep behaviour disorder. My suggestion is don't worry too much about this until you've settled into using CPAP for a bit longer. Then, take up this issue with your sleep specialist or doctor if still concerned. If you have this disorder it should have showed up on your sleep study. Is this behaviour affecting your wife's sleep? Maybe she can use earplugs during this period?
As for feeling more tired than before CPAP this is not unusual in the first few weeks. It is often reported here. One possibility is that once our bodies are no longer fighting apnea each night, cortisol and adrenaline levels get lower, which can make us feel very different, a positive adjustment but a big change nonetheless. I'm not sure about the headaches ...maybe others here can comment on that issue.
This is a huge adjustment and you are doing very well for someone just starting out. So hang in there, and I hope that you will be back here to post any other issues or concerns that you have.
And here we go!

AMK, Kteague, Pugsy and Arene1963 Thank you for your posts, they are appreciated.
LSAT, I will take some responsibility for the Obama Avatar as I know that we are in a time of hate and fear. I wasn't anticipating being shunned for having it though.
Julie, I wasn't going to comment on your post, yet I feel I need to. Out of all the information I posted, you focused on that I included that I am white. You did not choose to say anything about my gender, age or weight. You did not question why I put that I am white, you questioned what it had to do with anything and then connected it with my avatar. In a later post you spun it that everyone else found it hateful or ugly was the looking at it wrong. In my honest opinion I feel you have some issues with race and I am sorry about that. I am not a doctor, so I do not know when race comes into play for medical reasons and when it does not. The fact that you took that out to be a negative for my first post here is beyond me. I would appreciated it if you did no't follow my thread or comment on it.
Again,
Thank you to all others for your support and encouragement. I am excited to get the ball rolling so that I can have more energy and be more active and become more healthy.
Arlene1963 you are correct, I meant to type P10! thank you for pointing that out!

Jeff...I was not trying to shun you, but last year, when politics got mixed in to the CPAP talk, we spent weeks and 83 pages pro and con on Donald Trump.
I was hoping to avoid starting up a political discussion. Glad you stayed.....If you are interested.......

Re: And here we go!
Well... I'm glad you came back and I'm sorry if I got off on the wrong foot with you (JPeters) but I think I've become (like many these days) so hyperfocused on the news that it doesn't take much to set things off - especially late at night (which it was here in Atl. time). One can only read and hear so much now re not only politics - really frightening recently - but also the whole race issue that's been heightened by your new administration... and I feel bad for those of you who live under it now. In a way, it's frustrating to be Canadian, so 'attached' in many ways to the U.S. but not having a valid way, even a small personal one, to address things there (where, in fact, I have a lot of family).
This is supposed to be about OSA and Cpap, but being human, I think a lot of us find current events are hard to keep out of the forum.
I hope you do get help and glad you apparently are on the good side of things!

Re: And here we go!
Welcome, Jeff. Seems your title was a bit ironic, given that you had no idea what was to come. Personally, I am totally unphased by you being any color you wish to claim, nor does it matter a whit or a nit if you care for, love, despise or hate Obama. It's all good. Anyway, wanted to chime in with a hearty welcome, and hope you get some good sleep in the nearest future. For me, the most difficult thing was learning to stop constantly reviewing how I am doing, what my breathing feels like, how stopped my nose is or is not and so on. It is very hard to sleep restfully when you keep a running tally of all things physiological when trying to fall asleep. Relax, be like calm water and know you are in good hands with the helping folks here. Personal advice, ignore the extremist reactions professed by some here, things can get pretty petty in a hurry, and they really are not worth getting excited over.

Yes, we did spend weeks on a political discussion prior to the election, and I'm sure political discussions will continue in the future. However, your political views are well known and imo had everything to do with why you jumped on Jeff who only came here for help with sleep apnea, not to start an argument. At least you "apologized"...
*Jeff -- I'm so glad you came back! May I suggest you completely ignore people who aren't helpful. You'll figure out quickly who to avoid and who has your back. The information on this forum is priceless and I hope you'll use it to your advantage. Welcome!

Lucy...You have no idea what my political views are.....He said that he missed Obama...I said that I didn't. How is that "jumping on Jeff?"

The P10 is very popular around here. I used it for a while and really like it as well.jpeters77 wrote:

Oh, and I completely missed that you have it clearly pictured as your mask in your profile. Oops!
I agree with Tasmart about trying not to overthink things at this stage. (I'm a bit OCD so this was hard for me at first)
Being calm and learning to trust this thing on your face is the biggest hurdle at first. You say you've probably had OSA for a very long time, so physical recovery will take a while.
