With your limited sleep and limited REM there's a chance your OSA is more severe than the study reflects. Glad you are on your way to getting some relief. I saw one curiosity in your first link - movement during REM. Not sure how much is expected, but might be a good question to ask. Also, ask if there's any need to check medications. Some meds are thought to be associated with REM Behavior Disorders. Maybe this will self resolve after going on CPAP, just something to keep in the back of your mind. Maybe someone here knows how much movement is considered "normal" during REM sleep. Also curious that sleep studies now report on movements during wake time. Been several years since my last study, and that was something I had to ask for as a review and was then an addendum to the report. My need for reporting of wake time movements was due to suspicion of augmentation on a med. Maybe someone will know if wake time is standardly reported now.

The person I saw today just said that movements during sleep didn't contribute to anything. I assume it's just there to diagnose restless leg syndrome?

ETA: summary said that I have severe sleep apnea mostly while on back with associated hypoxemia.

Maybe, maybe not. Movements during a study are expected, and usually don't mean anything at all except we moved, and who doesn't? It depends on the specifics of those movements and if they resolve with CPAP treatment. Movements can be nothing, or they can be something. If the movements are indicative of REM Behavior Disorder or Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, then they can merit consideration. Unless the person you talked with said specifically that your movements during REM were normal, then they may have been making a generalization based on count, which doesn't mean much. Your count was pretty low, and I'm not sure how much REM movement is expected. Maybe yours are negligible. Asking, not telling.

You spent quite some time with O2 sats below 90%,....that would be very concerning to me, especially if this happens every night. Mine only went into the upper eighties twice for less than a minute during my study, and that got my attention more than my AHI of 16.

I wish you the best of luck with your treatment, and hope that you feel much better soon.

I'm assuming that's why I have been feeling so awful lately. Good thing VA gave me xanax..... I brought that up in appointment today and just got a funny look that I interpreted as not the greatest idea.
