New User - Can't sleep

Post by zinnia » Thu Nov 23, 2017 6:22 pm

Hello,
So happy to have found this board. I have used by C-Pap machine for 2 nights. I can't say I'm uncomfortable with my nasal mask but I can't fall asleep. I'm using the ramp feature, my humidity seems right and I'm not experiencing any mask leaks. Is this just a process of getting used to breathing this way? I have a few days off from work but I can't imagine not getting sleep for many more nights.
Thank you.

I know it sounds odd, but waiting until you are completely wiped out
before going to bed makes it harder to go to sleep.
Get ready a bit earlier. Know it's OK to be awake for awhile.
It is easier to sleep when you are relaxed. No hurries.
It sounds like you are going to be all right. It just takes a while.

Welcome to the forum.
I suggest you fill out your equipment information.
For many people it takes time to get used to the change. But eventually you will get used to it.
Some people have other challenges (pressure is not set right, mask leaks, mouth breathing, ...).
If your machine is data capable, it will have an SD card that records your settings, your statistics, and the raw data associated with every breath. Very important when trying to solve problems.

If you do have problems adjusting, you may want to read the three links below.
