Clear Airway Events

Post by StillSleepyinVegas » Sat Nov 18, 2017 9:01 am

I am using a ResMed AirCurve 10S (BIPAP) and my pressure settings are 14 and 9. I have a connective tissue disorder and need the higher pressure to keep my airway open. However, since I started using a CPAP and BIPAP my clear airway events have increased substantially - between 60 and 90 per night. I'm trying to determine the cause of these events without much success so I'm reaching out to this forum for some insight and perspective. I've installed sleepyhead for my Mac and have tracked the results for the last 30 days. I'd like to post some of the recent information here but am not sure how to do that.

Can someone provide instructions for posting the sleepyhead graphs? Once I post them, I would appreciate any input on these events and possible causes.

Thanks so much.........

Read this thread about posting SH graphs.

For some, as pressure rises, the number of clear airway apneas increase. This is why my sleep doc suggested a top of 16 for me when I switched to an APAP. I sleep tested with 11 as ideal in managing my OSA. My APAP range is 9.8-16. I raised my low pressure to reduce the number of times my pressure was ramping up to prevent events (have to see nightly pressure changes to tract this). This worked for me and 9.8 works well as baseline pressure. Pugsy has posted info on how to do this.

=======

that is not as useful as some of the newer ones that address the use of imgur directly
and in one post

this goes directly to better info

This from the clown that after numerous requests by those who would help, has never posted his Sleepyhead data.
