Sleepyhead - What features would you add?

Post by sleepy1988 » Wed Nov 15, 2017 9:55 pm

Wondering, if you had a chance to improve the Sleepy Head software, what would you include? Is there anything so badly missing that you would PAY for it?

What features would you add?

Ok, I'll bite. (And I am perfectly OK with bugs--they are yummy)
Make it run on Android.
I refuse to buy a damn windoze machine just for Sleepyhead.

Set various defaults (leak stats, names of flags) based on the machine in use, instead of the mishmash of some things expecting resmed, some things expecting respironics. This has confused tons of newbies.

remove the commentary after importing. It's often meaningless, especially when being alarmist about respironics leaks that are perfectly fine.

fix the hidden menu on windows in full screen mode.

Make the most useful graphs the ones at the top of the list, so people could post stuff here easier.

fix a host of nitpicky 'settings display' errors.

That's a pretty big "ask". I'd bet there would be a fair amount of programming effort to do that.

You don't own a desktop computer? SleepyHead works fine on macOS machines, you aren't forced to run windoze. But I suppose that Android tablets have gotten good enough for many people to avoid both Microsoft and Apple.

In fairness to JediMark, anyone considering paying for new features should first throw JediMark a few bucks for his original effort. I did.

Granted, the $20 I contributed is insignificant in view of the thousands of hours of time Mark put into the software. But if more people contributed, maybe Mark would still be working on the software? Or maybe it's not that, maybe he still has health issues?

In reality, you wouldn't add anything, due to lack of talent and putting in the effort. But you could complain to the people who did. Maybe if you supported the people who did the work better, they could support it better. Jim

That's actually pretty funny! Jim is about as far from being a Liberal as you can get!! Just goes to show how meaningless Mr. Triple Xs insults are. Anyone that disagrees with him is a "Libtard" regardless of actual political leanings. I think he thinks it actually makes him look smart when he calls people that derogatory term but anyone with a sane mind will realize that this individual's opinions can't be relied upon due to the way he writes. So in a way, him slinging that insult around serves as a warning to newbies not to trust him.

This guy just never fails to entertain. It's gotten to the point that I actually look forward to his posts. Keep on keeping on sir!

I may not agree with a lot of what Jim writes but what he said just above is COMPLETELY spot on.

not so much android based tablets, but the chromebook.

fortunately for me, i have a windows box.

but wouldn't mind seeing it on my chromebook.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Sad to say, but I'm beginning to look forward to them too. Such fun when you feel miserable with a lousy cold.

Another thing to change about SH, stop referring to centrals as "clear airway events" when not using a resperonics machine, since "clear airway" is a term made up by respironics, and not used in the rest of the sleep industry. (try googling "clear airway" -respironics )
