Bipap Auto pressures

Post by Deadmanwalking » Mon Dec 11, 2006 11:37 am

Hi All, I am getting a new bipap auto with biflex.
My md didn't put starting pressures on the script though.
My current machine is set at 12/9 I/E.
Could any one tell me what would be a good starting pressure for this new machine??
Thanks, DMW

I would try 8 EPAP min and max IPAP at 15. You want to set the PS to 7cm. The most the PS can go is 8cm. It's the difference between IPAP and EPAP up to a max of cm. The provider manual has a detailed explanation that might be good to read. The Biflex can be set to 2 or 3. Set the ramp to 6cm for 30 minutes. You may not use ramp as the 8cm is not too bad.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
