Any DME recommendations for CPAP equip?

Post by JaceS » Wed Nov 08, 2017 4:46 pm

After 4 years as a customer of Aerocare I can't take it anymore! They have gone fully automated and ship unneeded supplies, trying to return them requires speaking with a Customer Service rep which is virtually impossible. Spent 2 hours on-hold today trying to speak with a live Rep and ultimately they won as I hung up.

Can anyone recommend a new DME for CPAP supplies? After reading all the online complaints about AEROCare, especially from folks who work there I'm surprised I stayed with them this long. Fortunately my health insurance covers 100% with no deductible or co-pay, so this isn't an issue of bargain hunting, I'm looking for a reputable DME with decent Customer Service. They don't have to be local (S. Florida), anywhere in the 48 will do.

Any success stories with your DME?

Many thanks.

Jace

it really depends on the local store being good in spite of the larger DME company they are part of

i would buy online as needed when needed and get the DMEs out of my life as they add no value
In most cases you need a DME if you are going through insurance. Check with your insurance to see who is in their network. Most on line companies will not take insurance...there are a couple.

If you are wanting to keep your insurance involved so they pay their portion of your supplies you will first need to start with your insurance company and get a list of the providers that your insurance company has contracts with and then research your available options.
My DME is great but it won't do you any good if your insurance doesn't work with them.

What is your insurance? If it is Medicare it's against Medicare rules to auto ship period.

I'm not Medicare age yet, so it is Blue Cross of Florida - which is called "Florida Blue". I will check with them and see which DME's are part of their network.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I a moving to AeroCare now.
I have used American Home for the last 10 years, but seems the last year they were absorbed into LinCare and the quality went to crap.
I started receiving incorrect orders, when reported they did not come to get it, a few weeks later and a few phone calls I think they did. Another order was never shipped, they really went South so I asked my ENT for a new provider (I am also due for a new machine).

Aerocare scheduled me for an onsite fitting as they are local to me (South Florida). I currently use the Resmed S9 which I have had for 5 years. What is the latest model, the S10 airsense? Along with this question, is the heated hose, water chamber and air filters compatible with the S9?

The latest ResMed models are the AirSense/AirCurve 10 models.
The only thing compatible between the S9 models and the AirSense models are the filters.
Nothing else is compatible....heated hoses won't interchange nor will the water chambers.
