Sleepyhead Ques (easy one, I think)

Post by Captain_Midnight » Sun Nov 05, 2017 1:16 pm

Hi there Sleepyhead experts!

Occasional visitor Capt Midnight here with a Sleepy head issue, and I hope an easy fix.

While in sleepyhead, I tried goofing around w (I think) the view toggle full screen, or something very similar.

Now, my cursor will not work, and the only way to exit sleepyhead is to to a full computer off switch shutdown.

And, if I get back in to sleepyhead, I'm again stuck w no cursor, and no way to exit the program.

Are there any key command to reverse the stubborn issue that I toggled into?

Thanks in advance for any wisdom and suggestions from the long-time veterans on this fine site.

Cheers!

F11 is the toggle for full screen, and F12 is screenshot.

You could also exit sleepyhead by using task manager without shutting down and rebooting. Control+Alt+Delete

It's a known bug in SleepyHead.
Sometimes the F11 key will work and sometimes it won't.
Been discussed several times here on the forum in the past but it has been a while.

I couldn't get any of the usual tricks to work and ended up having to change the desktop resolution so that I could get to where I could change it back out of full screen...and then had to reset my resolution back.

It is, as Pugsy said, a bug in Sleepyhead. Just do as she said and it works fine. I have experienced the same thing. Other advice about windows drivers and virus are gross exaggerations of events that are a 1 in a million shot.

Had this happen once on my Mac book Pro lap top, Sleepy head screen froze wide open, nothing worked until I moved mouse pointer way up to the top and a bar dropped down and I could click on some thing, don't remember what, and it reduced size to normal operations.

Bet you won't do that again.
I know I won't. I avoid that full screen toggle like the plague.
F11 should work and it does for some people but not everyone. Didn't work for me and I tried every trick I could think of without success so that's why I ended up changing desktop resolution.

Seems odd in view of your analysis that what was suggested by Pugsy and seconded by me actually worked. If your advise had been taken the OP would still be trying to get Sleepyhead out of the full screen mode.

Nope...she knows a lot more about a lot of stuff than you want to give her credit for...says the little old lady who knows a lot more than squat about PC software and who used to write code for malware removal software programs.

The full page toggle annoyance is nothing more than a little bug in SH that causes some people a problem and not others.
Nothing else...despite your paranoia and wanting to make it out into something it isn't.
And not just Windows if I remember right...seems like we have had a few Mac users who experienced that little bug.
