Anesthesia and sleep apnea
Re: Anesthesia and sleep apnea
I was surprised at my last colonoscopy that they were going to use profolol. I didn't know until I was already prepped for the procedure and the anesthesiologist came in with the consent forms to sign. I almost backed out. In the end (no pun intended) I woke up afterward with no issues. I didn't remember anything, and I was ok with that. There have been a couple times in the past I did have some memories and the only purpose they served was making me fearful the next time. Since me remembering won't change any outcomes I'm ok with that. I think it's pretty normal to dread medical procedures and think of everything that could go wrong. I have other medical issues that could potentially be affected too, so I have to really wrangle my imagination under control. I doubt I would ever agree to an elective surgery, but if I need a procedure, so be it. Good luck with everything.

Re: Anesthesia and sleep apnea
My GI doc switched to it at some point and found that patients liked it much better than the old Versed/Fentynl combination that was previously used. When I thought I was initially going to have one, I did have some concerns about using it. But after doing some more research, I would have no qualms about it being used if I have one in the future.kteague wrote:I was surprised at my last colonoscopy that they were going to use profolol.
