OLD CPAP Machine

Post by Lou Cypher » Sat Oct 28, 2017 4:29 pm

I have a Remstar CPAP machine .... it still functions....... but It was replaced by 8 autoset II which has now been replaced....

I was wondering if there is somewhere that takes older machines to be dispersed to people who have nothing and needs one......

I don't want to throw it away as I am sure someone without funds could use this for their therapy.......

thanks for any help you can give me......

Contact Second Wind CPAP. They buy and sell used CPAP machines and maybe they'd be interested buying yours. http://www.secondwindcpap.com

You could also try to sell it here or on Craigslist.

EDIT: Oops, I totally misread the OP's post. Sorry about that. Well, I hope the information is useful for anyone looking to sell their machine.

Secondwindcpap ONLY buys newer CPAPs with less than 1000 (?) hours. They will take older machines for donation.
The OP is interested ig giving the machines away.

The big corporate DME's don't do it, but there are plenty of private DME's that will take it and donate it.. Google cpap or cpap supplies in your area and call the little private looking ones. Could also check with your doc.ask him where he would send someone if they couldn't afford a cpap. He may even know of a patient that could use it.

You could also contact a local home health care nurse group. Ask them if they have any patients who need a machine but have no money for one. Also check the Craigslist WANTED section. Gave my brother's old cpap machine (replaced by a bipap) to a guy who posted there.

Another resource for equipment donations:

https://www.sleepapnea.org/community/cp ... p-machine/

"All equipment donations must be preapproved. Sender must be willing to pay shipping charges. A charitable donation letter will be provided.
For approval, please email manager@sleepapnea.org with a list of your equipment. Machine type (CPAP, AutoCPAP, or BiLevel) model, number of hours used and age of machine, and accessories: factory sealed mask, tubing, filter, carry case, humidifier, patient manuals." . . . and further information is available at the link above.

I didn't see anyone mention the Reggie White Foundation. I googled where to donate a CPAP and found them, Second Wind CPAP and the American Sleep Apnea Association

From Reggie Whire Foundation...

If you have a CPAP machine to donate, please email information about the machine to (reggiewhitesleepfoundation@gmail.com). Some machines are too old to accept because the manufacturer has stopped making humidifiers and replacement parts. We are in great need of BiPAP machines so please send those to us right away. If you can find a picture of your machine on the Internet, please send that too. This helps a lot. Thank you so much for your support.

The shipping address for all machines and supplies is:

The Reggie White Foundation
2322 Morning Park Drive
Katy, TX 77494
