Hello to everyone!
I was diagnosed two months ago with an AHI of 28 and evidently have had this problem for many years. I just got my equipment two days ago and my first night results were good, I thought, but I learned some things that might assist a new user.
My first night report was a score of 74 with 8.9 episodes and mask fit was rated ‘good.’ The machine recorded only 6 hours of use but it was used for 10 hours. I was puzzled by that, but now I know why.
Second night results were a score of 98 with 5.1 episodes. Mask fit was fine again, but I had readjusted it.
The first night’s experience had the mask a tiny bit too loose (but I wasn’t aware of that until the next night). First night sensations seemed like my nostrils were mini wind tunnels with lots of sensation accompanied by serious wind noise, too.
The second night I had difficulty with the mask and tightened it just a bit which seated it better than the previous night. Wow, what a difference it made. All the noise and rushing air went away. I even wondered if there was something wrong with the machine, but the great report indicated everything was fine.
That four hour difference the first night may have been because the mask was a bit loose.
Best regards to everyone.
