Full face mask question

Post by JeffH » Sun Dec 10, 2006 12:00 pm

What FF mask would folks recommend for male with short beard? Will any of them work OK with a beard? After taping my mouth AND using a homemade strap around my face to try and stop mouth breathing, I'll still doing some mouth breathing and am thinking I may have to go to a FF mask.

Thanks

JeffH

Hi Jeff,

There have been a few people on the forum who have reported that the UMFF works OK with beards. Everybody's faces and beards are different, so your mileage may vary. I haven't had a full beard since I started therapy, but I do know if I let a few days go by between shavings, my leak rate goes up (seal is apparently riding on the stubble).

There's always the OTHER ALTERNATIVE......

Best wishes,

the UMFF didn't work with my beard, I could have a trimmed mustache but that was about it, otherwise 2 days growth and it leaked like a sieve. It was turning gray anyway.

I have been experimenting with both the F&P 432 and the Hybrid and also tried out the UMFF for a week. I think getting a FF mask has more to do with headgear fit as well as your facial structure than a beard. In addition, I think that making sure you have a clean (oil free) face for the mask/skin interface is also important.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

I agree with the oil free skin thought. As of the last week or so I've been cleaning the bottom side of my nose with Sea Breaze. My nasal pillows have sealed better with that product than anything I've tried.
