I also encourage use of alternate moniker for this individual. Still hard to believe it's gone on this long. When not ignoring the x-tard I will refer to the x-tard as x-tard

My wife who is a behavioral specialist with the school system reminded me about one key point. "Don't feed the trolls"

I'm bad about this too as I just posted multiple follow ups to his fussing in the oximeter thread. We are unfortunately feeding this fire. We need to figure out a system that we can stick with to ignore the postings of this individual that are causing all of this strife. And some of us are frustrated and posting replies that make us feel better but are just adding to the conflagration.

I've been with this forum for going on 10+ years. Admittedly lurking for most of them. There good things and bad things about how this forum is run. There's a bit of un-moderated "real-life" flair to it... in that you have to deal with tough love sometimes and the occasional "bad apple". There is also a vast wealth of information from years of people taking the time to share their knowledge and first hand experiences. There countless stories of people who couldn't get the help they needed from the health professionals out there but were able to get the help they needed here. The expression about bad apples goes on to say. "One Bad Apple Spoils The Whole Barrel"

We need to make sure we're not being turned into bad apples as well. I'm open to being corrected if I'm wrong but, I don't remember seeing the forum this riled up before. People including bold information in their signature lines about another person's behavior. The constant back and forth flame wars and hijacked threads were people come and ask a question that sometimes get's answered then we never hear from them again... maybe because we scared the hell out of them by having the end of their thread escalate into a 3rd grade school yard fight of incoherent name calling and off topic ranting.

Is there a way to not feed the trolls? It's been said before we just need to ignore him... The response from some to that is we need to "Correct his bad information before he hurts someone" Most of the time I see him post what seams almost like a snarkier paraphrase of what someone else has already posted. Can we just correct the information we see as inaccurate with out any other colorful quips and then ignore him?
