Oh yes, and that's what I have to be careful of. I know myself, and if I start reading online in the middle of the night, I can read for hours.... so that's unlikely to happen. At least, if I am wise, it's unlikely, or I'd get no sleep at all. (I've found that out the hard way.) In theory though, it's a great way to seek an answer, then head back to bed.

OK. I'm officially on my way, I suppose. Machine is home, set up and I've survived the first night intact. Although I'd hoped to sleep through the night, I knew that was a lot to hope for. I was able to sleep, eventually, and woke up with something in my hand. I thought immediately that it was the mask, and imagine my surprise to find out the mask was still on, and it was only my glasses in my hand. Now that was a pleasant surprise!

ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet, and trying AirFit P10 Pillow Mask at least for now.... so I shall see how it goes. My AHI for night 1 dropped to under 2 -- so I'd expect to feel like running a marathon or something, right? Wrong. I woke up multiple times, kept wondering what time it was, what the pressure was, whether the mask had come off or was leaking. Although there were few "events," I guess it may take a little while till it's just a part of my routine.

This is quite common for a lot of folk, myself included. For me it took a few weeks with a gradual lessening of the wake ups just because that there was a alien on my face that the brain hadn't comes to terms with accepting as its new best friend.
Until the wake ups reduce to minimal numbers you aren't likely to see the "miracle" and even then there are other reasons for not feeling like running a marathon.

Fragmented sleep for any reason is going to trash sleep quality though so that is the first thing to work on or give it time.
At this point for you...just give it time. It will get better in terms of the brain wanting to poke you and say "hey dude, did you know there is an alien plastered on your face and blowing air up your nose"
