Dream Wear mask

Post by lwieland11 » Sun Sep 17, 2017 7:50 am

What is the best way to try out another kind of mask without having to pay for it? I'd like to see if the Dream Wear leaks any less than the Amara View does.

I don't know any place that gives out masks free. Cpap.com offers return insurance. Amare View is FF and Dreamwear is nasal/pillow ?

You need insurance or else you will just keep buying and trying masks. This is an expensive condition to have and go it alone. Strange so many out there with no insurance. Bad idea. You give up something else so you can buy it if/when you get some really bad disease. This is the United States. This is how it goes here.

I hate to tell you this honey, but we do have a swap thread on here and are very careful about disinfecting our stuff before we swap. I'll ask you this question... what do you think happens to the masks that you have returned to your supplier after you have tried them out.... think girl.
They disinfect them and pass them out to other non suspecting patients and no your insurance does not pay for all these masks, they would go broke or raise premiums higher than they are now. Common sense!!!!!!
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Your insurance will not pay for as many masks you claim you can get during the thirty day period. Medicare will pay for one mask every 3 months. You happened to get a DME with a very liberal return policy. They get paid for only one mask. The others they either clean and disinfect and issue to others, or they return them to the manufacturer for a rebate. When you get your quarterly Medicare statement, look and see how many masks are actually charged to Medicare.

Actually I have had 5 masks and 4 nose parts since I started this 5 weeks ago. I beleive we have talked about this before. I dont gain anything by saying this. I have excellent insurance and I pay a high premium for it. Its not easy being me. Too many things have happened. and if I did not have it I would probably be dead. If you choose to challenge me about this I dont care. You dont know me and you have no right to make negative comments.

But, for the sake of others, it is important that we point out that
EVERYBODY'S INSURANCE IS DIFFERENT.
A lot of people could benefit from a Cadillac policy, but very few can get/afford one.
Congratulations for being so lucky.
The rest of us have to do the best we can with what we have.
So we help each other.
How can YOU help?

To bad we have free will, it works for some, for others it doesn't. People need to make smart decisions on how they live. Many of those who don't have the money for what they need (health), have plenty for cell phones, booze, cig's, clubbing.

So many poor choices out there to choose from. Jim

I have insurance--very expensive insurance--and it no longer covers CPAP or supplies. So insurance is no guarantee that you have coverage for this. This is the only insurance we could get, so there aren't really any options to look for another plan with better CPAP coverage. I'm grateful to have ANY insurance because it's covering 3 people all with significant pre-existing conditions, and our insurance could go away at any moment under the current political climate. THIS is the United States, and it SUCKS!

OTOH, when I did have CPAP equipment and supply coverage with insurance, I had to go through Crapria (no choice) and it was so annoying that I'm happy to pay for my own supplies because then I get to choose my vendor and supplies and I don't have to deal with those snakes. Considering the amount of time I spent trying to get me to send the correct supplies I ordered and to fix the bills (wrong 100% of the time!), I'm thrilled not to have that "coverage" any more. It cost me hours of time and raised my blood pressure far above safe levels EVERY damn time I had to order something. Now I buy my masks and supplies off Amazon for very reasonable prices--whenever and whatever I want. The only down side is that it's going to cost a bundle when I have to replace my machine. But I'll be able to choose my own machine, buy it outright from my preferred vendor at the best price I can find (new or used) and not have to play any stupid compliance games to prove what I already know--that I use my machine 100% of nights, 100% of my sleep.

Our hosts are CPAP.com will permit you to purchase "return insurance" for a fee on most masks. That means you can order it, try it, and if you are not happy with the mask you can return it for a credit. Highly recommended if you are trying out a mask for the first time.

I have insurance and found it to be cheaper to pay out of pocket. It's outrageous how much more everything costs when you have insurance.

Let me end this. I have two insurance policies. Medicare and a secondary . What medicare does not cover the other one does. I have NOT be billed for the 5 masks and 4 nose pieces I have gotten over 5 weeks. Medicare has never "billed" me for anything all of my life.

In addition thee are different medicare policies. Some other places saying they are medicare, but they r not government operated. For example Medicare advantage is not operated by the government. I know people who have bought this and one day they walk into the drs office and find they are no long accecpting their Medicare Advantage.

Buyer beware. Check and recheck. Buy only government medicare insurance. Just because the company has the word medicare in its name means nothing. The real Medicare does not suddenly cut you off.

Excuse me sir.

Sorry u are ill informed. No one "BRAGS" about insurance. Maybe a car or a house but surely not insurance. Only informing anyone whos interested that all all policies with Medicare in their name are not the same. To me that sounds like a helping hand and not a hindurance . I dont know how old you are--but grow up. Take this forum as a place to learn ..maybe things even you dont know.
