Yes, schools should start later, about 40 years of age, education is wasted on the young, let them play. They are likely to be living with you until you die anyway! Jim

Missing the CPAP element here. Hint: look at the name and purpose of the site.

School kids could get ENOUGH sleep--with the current schedule;
BUT television, video games, the internet, and HOMEWORK discourage them from getting to bed at a reasonable hour.
It affects parents, teachers, and everyone else.
The key is to do the math.
Count backwards from the time you need to get up, and get to bed by THEN.
It is just too simple for anyone with the impulses of a four-year-old, mainly most of us now.

=======

their body clock wants them to stay up late and sleep late
it is hard to reset it especially at that age

they really need to sleep later in the morning and start school later
we only do that to please moms who have to go to work too early

we would all be better off is society shifted our schedule a few hours later than it all starts now
Then get a job on second shift, problem solved! Jim

It is the cost of civilization that we need to maintain SELF-DISCIPLINE.
If we cannot, we will ultimately fail.
Staying up late is a CHOICE, a bad one.
