I think OP is using an AirSense 10 machine and it's pretty much impossible to over fill the water chamber due to where the hinge and lid and the top and bottom comes together.TedVPAP wrote:Are you sure that you are not overfilling your humidifier?
I didn't realize this until I actually got one. First time I filled it up I realized there was no way a person could accidentally over fill it if they raised the lid to add the water and there really isn't any other practical way to add water.
Now the S9...easy to over fill but not the AirSense/AirCurve.
If it gets overfilled it simply pours out immediately and the opening to the hose isn't so close to the water level anyway.
I usually fill mine over the bed...been a couple of times water came out of the jug too fast and I ended up with a wet spot in the bed. There's just no way to close the lid and have water be above the hinge level. It's going to run out before you can close the lid.
