I've been using a Dream Station for over a year and never had any rainout problems. I have a heated hose but only turn it on when it is cold, I dont like warm air when its summer. My machine is set to the "adaptive" humidifier mode which lets the machine adjust the humidity level. If your machine's humidifier mode is set to "fixed" you might try the adaptive mode.
