SleepyHead - Flow Limitation?

Post by FoggyBrain24 » Tue Aug 29, 2017 10:47 am

I came across this "Organize your Sleepyhead Charts" link that gives a suggested support order for your charts. The only thing, I do not see the Flow Limitation chart. I have the rest in the appropriate order, but am wondering where the option is to add the Flow Limitation chart.

Thanks!

The Flow limitation graph is only available on ResMed machines.
You are using a Respironics machine so there is no graph but instead you have FL flagging available on the Events graph (only in apap mode though).
You had 3 or 4 FL flags on that report. Not a horrible number of FLs.
Flow limitations and snores (not VS2 though) are part of the algorithm that will cause the machine to increase the pressure.
So it's not just OAs and hyponeas that drive the pressure.

Think of Flow Limitations as reductions in air flow that don't meet the criteria required for a full grown OA or hyponea.
Either in the amount of reduction or duration of the reduction.
They are important as they are an indication that the air flow has reduced for some reason and it could be because the airway is trying to collapse.
Another reason is nasal congestion but that's a different issue and a different discussion.

So you don't have a FL graph and just have to ignore that part of the organization of graphs explanation in SH.
