90% Leak Rate 12.00 10.80 10.80 10.80 10.80

Re: Leaks in Sleepyhead
Which machine brand are you using?
90% (or 95% depending on what someone has setup)...leak numbers just mean you were at or below that number for 90/95% of the night. The "or below" part of the definition is often forgotten or misunderstood. 90/95% number are NOT where someone spent 90/95% of the night because of the "or below" part of the definition.
If a ResMed machine...your numbers are well below the 24 L/min where large leak territory starts.
1 to 2 % of the time in large leak territory...not enough to worry about.
Example 2 % of 7 hours (420 minutes) is 8.4 minutes out of 7 hours. Some might be pulling the mask away to reseat it. Some might be just normal mask movement. Unless a person is waking up often from leaks (no matter how big or how little) I wouldn't worry about such a small amount of time in large leak territory.
Now if for some reason I was seeing something like 20% of the night in large leak territory then I might look deeper to see just how far into large leak territory I went. A little bit into large leak territory (like 25 to 29 L/min) isn't that bad but if it is 45 L/min then that's pretty bad (talking ResMed machine leak numbers here).
If someone has Respironics machine they have a totally different number for where large leak territory starts and they can't use the 24 L/min as their threshold.
