CPAP vs Postural Hypotension

Post by Bextastic » Sun Aug 13, 2017 2:36 pm

I fully accept that I'm a hot mess but was just wondering if anyone with postural (orthostatic) hypotension had noticed a change after using CPAP. I'm not sure if it's related but the two days I've been using the cpap I've also felt very dizzy and lightheaded (how I get with OH) and wondered if they were linked.

If I were a horse I'd have been taken out to pasture by now.

Actually, since I started cpap, that's one of the very few things that seems to have improved (started cpap about 3 weeks ago). But I remember the first couple of nights feeling kind of light-headed while lying in bed with the mask on, I think because i was so hyper aware of my breathing that I would find myself holding my breath. Since then, I haven't had that problem. Hopefully your OH will get better soon!

My dad was a cowboy--that was never the scenario.

Cpap does lower BP in many cases... can you check yours with a home device?

Do you have access to your CPAP data? What is your AHI? What is the leak level? Which model/brand machine?
