I have been having a problem with weight gain for the last two years and did not know why as my eating habits have never changed. I have kept written daily food records. Tracking calories, fat and carbs. Most always under what I am allowed for the day. Yes, I cheat once and awhile but never anymore than I did two years ago. I have been questioning my doctors as to why this is happening when this past week one of my doctors asked why the huge weight gain since August of 2015 and asked what had happened in 2015. She had traced my weight since 2009 and I had always stayed within 5 lbs until 2015 when I went on the Bi Pap machine and it was then that my weight has a continuous climb of 50 lbs and within 2 months of the Bi Pap I have had to be on oxygen 24/7. I also have other side effects mentioned in some of these reports. I am going off the Bi Pap and using breathing exercises, etc. There is a lot of information out there that is helpful.
Maggie, to gain such an amount of weight as well as be on oxygen, without explanation, means you need a different doctor. I personally feel the bipap is simply coincidental. But you need to get someone to figure out that edema because it is affecting your lungs and likely your heart and other vessels. My brother gained 45 pounds from edema. He sees an internist because a family practitioner simply isn't geared to handle something like this. He has since lost the edema (severe salt restriction and water pills). He is still on bipap.

Yet another fine benefit of xPAP for me.

I had a doctor appointment today and I have put on 5lbs. Now I am back to needing to drop 10-15 instead of 5-10. My eating hasn't changed and prior to xPAP I was on a slow downward trend (about 1lb per month).

Sigh...

Same here, about 40lbs up from last year, and that's by eating less, and doing more sport, than before.
Maybe the energy it took just to stay awake during the day was so high that it was burning allll the calories?

Sorry, I have to shoot that one down, I'm not succeeding in snuffing the tiredness, and I'm still putting on weight.

Maybe it's the compressed air getting trapped in our bodies from the extra pressure?

Geez, one step forward, two steps back is way too common in my old age...

Let's look at the good side of it, at least we're still able to walk!

I can do that three step, but is takes more than that to burn sugar. Jim

However, many forget that the critical measure is still being able to breathe.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
