I guess would mean you have done some googling, to post on a cpap forum , A cpap would be a probably part of your treatment.

To give you some hope, I had the same issue prior to starting on CPAP.

I'd suggest you get a sleep study and get treated as soon as you can.

It may not be the same for you depending on what is going on, but once my apnea was treated, the pulmonary hypertension resolved itself within a few months.

At no time was it ever suggested by my specialist sleep physician or my cardiologist that additional oxygen was required as part of my treatment.

I worked with a gentleman who had been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension and was treated for it for several years. He was on oxygen all of the time. He actually an oxygen concentrator in his office. After he retired and moved, he had to change doctors. The new doctor performed a very thorough examination and told him he did not have pulmonary hypertension, but had severe asthma. He started treating him for asthma, and all of his symptoms cleared up.

PH can cause strain to the right side of your heart. When normal ventilation is restored at night through CPAP or Bi-level therapy, often times there will be a corresponding decrease in pulmonary artery pressures. If you are diagnosed with PH, any type, it's very important that you adhere to everything your doctor says and are 100% compliant with all therapy.

PH is only supposed to be diagnosed by right heart catheter - yet physicians to this day still do inadequate testing such as echo cardiogram. People would live a lot longer if they were actually diagnosed correctly. Sometimes they think it's just asthma when it's PH; sometimes they think it's chronic PH that requires PH mediciations, when it's simply an acute episode which when treated, the PH subsides.

If you have SDB and almost any other condition, you should still treat your SDB! It makes almost every other condition worse, and most treatments (for other ailments) less effective.
