Perhaps a regular user should start another one, and bump that instead.

Well... if he doesn't apologize to everyone he's insulted, or leave the forum, I don't think that's a bad idea.

I started a new thread and put in the title "Gives WRONG Info" - Hopefully I've been on the forum long enough to be considered a "veteran."

Can't be hard to work out what is and isn't right if you read all of the thread. Those that can't are subject to Darwin's law and won't understand anyway. However, if everyone just pressed the foe button then there would eventually be one less troll on the board. If someone takes his advice and the consequences aren't good will we actually know about it? Schrodinger's cat applies here.
Are you saying no harm is done if a small group of users don't actually see his posts? I must say that if I thought the audience was the small group of regular posters, I probably wouldn't bother. And while I don't mind some diversity of opinion (I rather enjoy watching some of the dust-ups we've had) I feel a responsibility to comment when there is bad or dangerous advice given.
While I see your point we have to accept that this, like all forums, contains a variety of opinions. Some are very well informed and others are not. The fact that you feel some responsibility towards the newbies is laudable.

Our friend with the alphabet name is what I consider to be a 'troll' Trolls feed on any attention they can be given and threads like this must be dream come true for xxyzx. I don't care what he writes (and don't see it) and those who do can simply respond to any of his posts by giving a contrary opinion. 'Bagging' him just makes this forum look bad and that in itself is probably driving some people away.

I see your point on this and part of me agrees with it. It does make us look bad to "bag" him in this manner. In our defense, we've had people similar to him in the past and to the best of my recollection, this is the FIRST time we've ever taken this action. I've been here over 7 years. He's a special kind of "whack-a-doodle" that crosses into SCARY AS HELL with his name calling and THREATS. Threatening to kill us all is NOT something I can blow off very easily. If it was just bad information, I believe you have the right idea - correct the inaccurate information and ignore the rest. But he crosses over into an area that requires more direct action - thus why we've done what we've done.

But I respect your opinion on it and appreciate your sharing your point of view. And to alphabet guy - this is how mature, grownups respond to people when they disagree. Not that you'll absorb this. It's beyond your willingness or capability.

It's the easiest thing in the world for me to blow off. Let's face it, if his expert knowledge on killing libtards is anywhere near the dizzying heights of his xPAP knowledge, we're perfectly safe, as long as we don't laugh ourselves to death.
