amara view advice

Post by tiredNorlando » Tue Aug 01, 2017 4:59 am

Good morning all, I tried that amara view last night for the first time and it didn't go so well. wondering if anyone has some tips for me.

The air vent on the front blows air very close to my eyes, and when I inhaled through my nose I had air blowing out of the mask at my nostrils.
Both were very annoying, I tried loosening the mask, tightening the mask, nothing seemed to work.. so after 15 minutes of messing with it I put my other mask on and went to sleep.

the amara felt pretty comfy overall, just the air issues.

Anyone else have these issues? if so I would really appreciate any feedback!

thanks

You may need to tighten the crown strap that goes across the top of your head.

I have been using the Amara View for almost a year. I love it - except when I hate it... it can be hard to fit so it doesn't leak but don't give up trying too soon. I go for long periods where it fits fine with no leaks and then for some reason, there is a stretch where I have a hard time getting the mask to stop leaking. But when it is working without leaking, it is a great mask. Make the strap adjustments very incrementally. If air is going into your eyes, the mask is definitely leaking. When my mask is positioned properly, the air from the vent kind of blows forward and not into my eyes and there is no leaking around my nose that goes into my eyes. The mask just fit just gently touching below your nose. Try tipping the mask slightly so the air from the vents is blowing out away from your face and eyes and see if you can get it adjusted in that position. Try positioning the top strap a bit further towards the back of your head. I hope you will be able to get it to work for you. I still don't know why sometimes I am able to get it fitted great and other times it seems so hard.

I messed with it when I got home today, I loosened the strap that goes around the back of your head, and re adjusted the straps to the clips, feels like a loose fit but it didn't leak or blow air into my eyes. So maybe I was just used to the full face mask being tighter?
Will give it a shot again later when I retire for the evening!
Thanks again

First step choose an very confortable mask, take time for this. Second step, you will need about 2 weeks to get used to. For me the loosest the better without leaks. Good luck!

You describe this mask well and the responses are spot on with my experience. Works great until it doesn't and no idea why it doesn't work sometimes. I did order the liners specific to this mask and they helped me tremendously. Liners help with the seal and prevent some leaks. Try these and think you'll like them.

Do you reckoned a particular liner for it?
Thanks

I made my own liners out of an old, well-used tee shirt. If you want a copy of the pattern, PM me your regular email address and I will send it to you when I get back home on Friday evening. I am currently using my laptop and do not have the pattern on this computer.
