New low for DME

I restrict my use of Java, but still use it on occasion with sites I trust, a false sense of security. MalwareBytes does have anti ransomware. I haven't recently checked but they said would keep a free puerperal Beta for two programs, I believe they are anti-ransomware and anti-exploit because they are also included in the bundled in their 3x version.

As you advise, sometimes I type in a url rather than clicking. I probably click more than I should. A great recommendation. Thank you for the reminder, it will make me will stop and think before I click.

As for flash I'm fairly certain I did not install it, now I need to double check.. Thanks again.

Regarding email. After doing an image restore I scanned from a bootable disk. I was amazed at the number of virus, tojans etc in my email trash folder. All unopened from unknown sources. Since then I've been scanning from a bootable disk every now and then, so far they haven't found anything. I also linked my email client with my anti virus software.

Not suggesting there are not dangers out there, but with reasonable practices, I believe that danger can be sufficiently managed.

I failed to mention this in my previous reply, but when I bring my SD Card for a 3rd party's use, I first "lock" the SD Card so that nothing can be written to the SD Card by that 3rd party's computer.
And since "my" Sleep Doctor reads the card in a computer on her desk in the same room that I am in, I would know if she tried to "unlock" the SD Card.

I, of course, have to "unlock" the SD Card before I place it in my computer for formatting.
But, I feel that my Antivirus Software would block any evil residing on the SD Card from ever getting into my System.

I have that SD Formatter Software on an old Windows Desktop System that has nothing on it of any value.
Since my Sleep Doctor only reads my SD Card once yearly before she will issue me an Rx for Supplies for the next year, I may format the SD Card in that old system just to be safe.
