Reinvigorated, I'm posting a link to an interesting discussion about UARS from many years back.

One of the great things about this forum is that old threads and posts are searchable, with excellent information, being a virtual library of SDB topics. I spend quite a lot of time reading old threads and they have helped me a lot. Hope this will help you as well.

My AHI is <1 about 95% of the time and I still don't feel great after 2 years. That's because my oxygen level is still only 91% which is the best they can make it AND I often only get 6 hours of sleep. However, I no longer nap twice a day, so that was a huge improvement. I'm considering ragging on my doc about getting a used oxygen concentrator to use at night and let him explain to me why this is a bad idea. I have rarely had enough sleep at night since cancer surgery 3 years ago and it is just frustrating.

One of my best days in terms of how I felt back when I was first doing cpap was about 3 months into therapy and I had an absolute wonderful day. Felt half my age. I didn't check my AHI until before bed. Back then I didn't want the AHI to cloud how I perceived my day..
So right before bed I checked it fully expecting to see something close to 0.0 AHI because it had been running between 2 and 3 at that time.
Imagine my surprise when I saw an AHI of 10.2 yep...3 digits. I have no explanation for it. Did nothing different and slept about as well as I was sleeping back then for about the same amount of hours.
That was about 8 years ago next month.

Fast forward to today. Depending on the machine I am using my AHI might be 0.0 to 2.0 or maybe on occasion close to 5.
I have yet to be able to tell any difference in how I feel based solely on the AHI. Just not something that seems to impact me all that much.
Other things impact me more but they are unrelated to cpap or sleep apnea even.

Last Friday I felt amazing...rarity for me. I just now downloaded my SD card (hadn't done it in a couple of weeks or so because I don't watch my data daily) and I looked at Thursday night just to see if anything stood out. The AHI was around 2....pretty much what it normally runs with this machine but I did have 1.0 Sat night. What stands out is hours of sleep...I got about 8 1/2 hours of sleep Thursday night. My average last week was a little less than 7 hours of sleep and I suspect that it was the hours of sleep that let me feel so much better Friday.
My sleep quality sucks sometimes for reasons unrelated to sleep apnea or cpap therapy so often I end up getting up with less hours of sleep than I really want because I simply can't stay in bed any longer.

In my case the quality of my sleep and the number of hours I sleep seem to make the biggest difference in how I feel during the day.
I wish it were something as simple as getting a nice low AHI because I can do that standing on my head.
