Does anyone know if Resmed has stopped making the Swift Nano nasal mask?
I know our host carries it but I'm using Medicare and for some Reason Verus Healthcare has told me that mask is no longer available. This after they have provided it for more than a year, so I'm curious.
But they also claim that the HC300 water chamber is not available in their system. There is a water chamber for a Sleepstyle 200 they carry but I am not sure about the size or if it have the removable bottom for cleaning like the HC300.
I am disappointed with Verus for this stumbling block.
TIA

Re: Swift Nano
Most likely Verus has decided to not stock or keep the Nano in their inventory. The could special order if if they would but there's nothing forcing them to. We see this often where a DME simply doesn't want to order or keep in inventory so and so mask but instead of simply telling the truth they blame it on "no longer being made".
I haven't heard anything about ResMed actually discontinuing the Nano....probably you should call ResMed directly to make sure.
It's not that old of a mask so I don't see ResMed stopping production.

Re: Swift Nano
My DME that I was getting my provent from told me the same thing! they said its been discontined, I called ventus, who makes it and they said absolutely not!
So yes, DME's do lie about things!

I use Lincare and have been using the Swift FX Nano. They don't stock the Nano at their distribution center. The Local Lincare DME office has to ship it to me directly. This has been going on for about a year now. The local office has no problem getting it. I guess the warehouse can't stock every mask out there.

Re: Swift Nano
Same thing here. While I recently changed from Lincare to a local because of change of coverage, some things I could only get from the local Lincare office as the warehouse didn't stock it. Very often, when a company says something is being discontinued, it means it is being discontinued at that company, not that the manufacturer has quit making it. This is also true of non-medical suppliers.

Certainly, I understand it is not possible to stock every cpap mask but I also feel it is not unreasonable to expect your DME to order a mask that works for your therapy. It can't take more than a few days to order from another vendor.Cardsfan wrote: The local office has no problem getting it. I guess the warehouse can't stock every mask out there.
Imagine if your pharmacy who once supplied your medicine suddenly said "Oh we don't stock that any longer"? I think we can all reasonably figure it all has to do with money.
Imagine my surprise when the very next day I get a call from a very nice "Ashley from Verus" who tells me it is time to order my supplies. I let her know I was ready but Versus would not order the mask I use. After a brief hold for her to check on that, she returns to tell me that is correct we no longer stock that mask and asks if I'm ready to order my filters and other supplies. I told her I felt it was better if I got ALL of my supplies from a DME who will supply the mask I need for my therapy.
Ironically, she then asks if there was anything else she could do to please call. Order the Swift NANO - can you hear me?
I have seen it said here to avoid any DME that starts with A or L. I'm afraid I will have to add V's to that list. So that is A, V, or L or is it A, L, or V? Maybe VAL.
Re: Swift Nano
Not a good example. A lot of pharmacies stop stocking expensive or seldom prescribed drugs because it isn't profitable. This is especially true of small chains or non-chains (yes, there are some of those). Even Walgreens - my brother gets a very expensive form of insulin and all the patients who need that form in the nearby area all have to go to the 24 hour Walgreens as that is the only one who will stock it OR they have to wait almost a week for it to come from the warehouse.parzad wrote: Imagine if your pharmacy who once supplied your medicine suddenly said "Oh we don't stock that any longer"? Re: Swift Nano
IF they don't stock it they will either make it from compounds they do stock, order it, or direct you to a supplier as you have indicated not just tell you we can't get it. But then that is only for a prescription the other is for a "Detailed Written Order".SewTired wrote:Not a good example.
