An at-home study will be way less expensive than in the lab.
Of course, they are far less comprehensive, but some insurance companies push them.

I was told that a sleep test at my local hospital here in Toronto is roughly $800-1000. Covered 100% by our universal healthcare system. We pay for healthcare from our sales tax and income tax.
