Does this mask work with a humidifier in the breathing machine?
Re: SleepWeaver Anew #100965
I don't know about your breathing machine, but it certainly works with any CPAP.Robert Baker wrote:Does this mask work with a humidifier in the breathing machine?

I don't think so.xxyzx wrote:==============Robert Baker wrote:Does this mask work with a humidifier in the breathing machine?
arent they two separate independent things
humidifier adds some moisture to the air
before the machine sends it to the mask
they dont know about each other and dont care
The humidifiers used on most common xPAP units such as all recent and current ResMed and Respironics machines are just dumb hot plates with a container of water. All control of humidification levels and air movement are provided and managed by the xPAP unit, not the humidifier. Not one of the humidifers adds anything to the breathing environment without an xPAP attached and operating. In order for this control to be effective and manageable, the xPAP machine must know the humidifier is attached and what temperature and humdification levels are desired by the user. The humidifier has to be aware of the xPAP machine because it provides the power for heating and the adjustments in levels to maintain efficacy. This remains true even if used as a passive, passover humidifier - the humidifier still needs airflow and no power, all of which is controlled and provided by the xPAP machine.
