Headgear allergy?

I am a BiPAP user for nearly three year. I recently changed back to headgear that I used with no difficulty in the past. After about two weeks using the new headgear I began to experience severe itch of my scalp but only in the areas of the scalp that the headgear touches. There is no visible rash, just severe itch. I have laundered the headgear in mild soap as I have always done in the past. I've never had this problem before now with this brand. Has anyone had similar problems?
