Mirage Swift mask leaving dents under nose

Post by Kobi » Sat Dec 02, 2006 12:29 pm

Hi,

I am a newbie here. Been on cpap for 3 months and use a Tiara Snapp and a Mirage Swift. I prefer the Snapp for how soft the pillows are but am having trouble with sizing (I'm between a medium and a large) so switched to the Swift for a few nights. I have it adjusted pretty well - I've padded the plastic fastenings on the headgear and put shelving waffle foam on the back strap so it won't ride up, and I've jammed molefoam against the edges of the pillows to angle them inward toward each other so they don't leak anymore. But even though I can go a whole night and not feel discomfort, no matter how I rotate the barrel in the morning I have deep indents in my upper lip right under my nose from the curve of the bottom of the pillows pushing against my skin. I had this happen both before and after I made any adjustments. Loosening the back strap causes leaks. Anyone else had this problem?

Hello to anyone who reads this post. I won't be able to reply to any helpful answers for awhile because I've got a family medical emergency right now. But I will read any and all when I get back on line, it may not be for several weeks. Thanks, Kobi

I think most of us get marks from our masks. Most of the marks go away within an hour or so. If you keep having marks that don't go away you may have to consider changing your mask. Before you do that do a search for swift mask fixes. Your sure to get alot of info.
