No, I only turn the machine off if it's almost time to get up anyway

you might notice that I want the LED light to be off when I am trying to get back to sleep, not when I am sleeping.

The light is so dim (especially when it's dimmed down) that I can't imagine how it would possibly keep anyone awake, especially if their eyes were closed. It isn't even that bright when the machine isn't in "sleep" mode!

Hell, I see more people riding bicycles and smoking while they ride. But then again, when I used to smoke, I would light up before I jogged, and as soon as I finished a 5-mile run, I would light up again. The addiction is strong within me. 8 years after quitting I still really want a cigarette. But I have noticed since I have started CPAPing I dont have near the desire for a smoke. Maybe I was using smoking to try and feel awake and alert? Ya Think?

No, but I've been known to stop at the convenient store on the way home from the gym and grab a cold Heineken to chill chill out after a tough work out

Why not what now? The night stand light or TV are a lot brighter than the tiny little light on the CPAP machine (which you can't see if your eyes are closed).

I run a 40 inch t.v. 5 feet from my bed, and a led light next to my XPAP, maybe if I had a machine like yours I could turn them off. Jim

If you are trying to get to sleep, your eyes should be closed...you will never get to sleep if your eyes are open.
