How to share SD card data?

Post by TedVPAP » Sun Jun 04, 2017 8:09 am

I want to review a friends data using SleepyHead. What is the best way? Is there a file that can be emailed?
Thanks

Easiest way is to have your friend make a copy of the entire SD card, compress/zip it, then send as email or if it's too bit upload to some place where you can go get it like dropbox or something. You can download and unzip to a SD card or just use the desktop if you wish.

SleepyHead looks for the master folder as the starting point and just copying one file won't work. Need all the files for SleepyHead to do all the calculations and the files and folders need to be in specific order. Hence it's just easier to copy the entire SD card contents.
It's too hard to rebuild the SD card contents when someone sends each file/folder separately and invariably they forget something or you put a file in the wrong folder.

Or have them mail you a SD card, they are cheap. Only problem mail is snail. Jim

The easiest way is to maybe use the cloud. I have a Microsoft One drive account. I've just tried this, I made a folder called Resmed on One Drive. I went into my local E:\ folder once I inserted my SD card into my laptop and then copied all the files/folders into the Resmed folder on my One Drive. I installed Sleepyhead 1.0.0 on my desktop PC, created a new profile and chose the Resmed folder from my one drive to import to sleepyhead and it worked.

All the OP would need is the ability of the person to upload to his cloud folder in this case, or simply access to theirs but I've never tried that.

Like others have said posting SD cards could be easier in the short term. But with regards to my suggestion the OPs friend needs to be happy with their data being in the cloud, I'm not sure I would.
