Opinions please

Post by Jussumguy » Tue May 30, 2017 11:22 pm

What is the general consensus concerning the fisher and paykal icon? I can get a complete set up with little or no miles on it for about $250. Bargain or should it be thrown out the window?

Thanks Rich

It probably depends on which model of the Icon it is. Just for comparison, below is a link to the page for some of those machines at our forum host's site. If you scroll down on that page there is an older baseline model just for reference. Some questions to determine - If used, how many hours of use are on the machine? Does it report treatment data or just usage hours (compliance data)? Does available software work with this machine? I'm sure some users familiar with that brand wil be awake and reply soon. Might be helpful to edit your title to include about Icon to catch their attention.

In general, I've paid in that price range for a few different used data capable machines. If this is to be a primary machine, data would be the deal breaker for me. If a backup machine, I wouldn't be as adamant. But if it's older and only reports usage, I wouldn't pay that for it. Give some specifics on the machine for more specific answers.

As kteague noted, having a machine that collects useful data other than useless compliance data for insurance is essential ... especially for beginners. If on the other hand you are buying the machine as a backup or for travel use, having useful data capabilities is not that important. Other considerations include the type or complexity of your apnea condition ... and lastly comfort qualities noise or other convenience functions/settings..
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

This machine might be a good buy - F&P ICON+ Auto

I wouldn't have either of these - F&P ICON+ Novo or F&P ICON+ Premo (The first is not data capable, and the second is not auto.)

Personally, I prefer to stick with ResMed or Respironics models. They are more widely used, and both service from DMEs and help from other users is more readily available.

If you're satisfied by Trump's performance to date, you're a very easy person to satisfy. What has he done that gives you any respect for him? Failing to build the wall we don't need? Proposing tax reform that steals from the poor to make the rich richer? Ditto for the "healthcare insurance" proposal? Proposing to kill Medicaid and SSI, as well as women's healthcare and birth control? Not to mention the lack of ethics that allows him to profit from the businesses that's he's stayed in charge of as he pushes proposals that will benefit them? Violating pretty much every campaign promise he made (except getting out of the Paris Climate Accord)? This makes me curious...You guys that bought into the "Hillary's a crook" BS and voted for Trump because of that are getting what you voted for, a guy that aspires to be a tin horn dictator like Putin or Duterte, who he'd love to be besties with. Unless you're wealthy, of course, then there's a lot to like about him. He's going to make you a lot richer if he gets his tax reform, budget proposal, and "healthcare insurance" beautiful replacement through Congress. Yeah, the one that's going to cover more people and cost less, that "healthcare insurance" plan.

Sorry, guy.
Your title tweaked some unhappy people, and your thread was hijacked.
Not many have the Icon machines.
Best to make sure of the model, "mileage", and read the specs on cpap.com.
Chicagogranny and kteague have good advice.
The others are just here to gripe.

Popcorn messes up my blood sugar, so I have a bag of pork rinds in my movie purse.

OT conclusion: Re: Opinions please

Post by RogerSC » Mon Jun 05, 2017 7:19 pm

Sorry, pushes a button when I see the "crooked Hillary" meme, got to learn to ignore that...I should know better than to try to communicate with someone that has bought into that...they live on a different planet and speak a different language than me. And then there are those that will say particular things just to try to get a rise out of those that might be sensitive about it. Again, no point in trying to communicate there, either.

I'm done, by the way, learned my lesson yet again. Sorry. I try, I really try *smile*.
