I thought this may be of interest for the REMstar users in Australia. Not sure if this applies to equipment sold in the US. Respironics has recalled the REMstar heated Humidifier because of a faulty power inlet. This recall applies to Product Number:1007861 with serial numbers H045582 to H239662. If you have a Humidifier in the serial range listed, please disconnect the unit from the electricity supply. The humidifier can continue to be used in the non-powered mode. The distributor in Australia is Mayo Group and they will replace if you have one of the humidifiers listed.

Respironics REMstar Humidifier recall in Australia
All my classic h/h units (have some) came from the US & have part# 1005792.
The H2 h/h has part# 1009491.
All work well on 240volts A/C . Not sure why the Aussie models have a different number. The seperate power cord is the only part that differs.

xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)
I think Mayo Health gives them their own serial #Not sure why the Aussie models have a different number.
I'm fairly sure that is the case.. they put a little sticker on the base of the HH and the xPAP to differentiate between their own stuff and imports - for warranty and servicing reasons. They offer a 5 year warranty (nice) but their prices are not as nice:
eg: $4,000 AUD BiPAP Pro, $1,800 AUD Classic Auto w/CFlex (both include humidifier & HH)
Mayo told me they won't deal with, or service any equipment not bought through their DME outlets. But they will rent you a Remstar classic APAP & new mask for $40 a month for up to two months with a $300 refundable deposit (which is a very good deal). After two months the cost is $130 a month. You pay about $30 extra for a non returnable hose and you get access to a therapist at no extra charge. Not bad at all!
