Yes, yes, yes! I have been losing my hair steadily over the past year, probably longer, correlating with the pads of the same sleepgear rubbing on the front of my scalp. It makes me want to cry every morning when I look in the mirror and realize I have lost more hair. I hope you are still monitoring this page and can respond. Were you ever able to effectively sue the company and if not, did you ever contact them regarding your problem? What is your status now and do you still use the same device?

Hi there,
I know these posts are dated...I just started using CPAP 2 months ago. I thought I was going crazy my hair is thinning severely in the back of my head...for a woman that is not desirable at all! I already have fine hair. Is any of this reversible? Has anyone had success using silk caps? I tried one last night but my hair was all scrunched up I the back in the morning when I woke up. I believe I must move around at night making the elastic band on my mask the culprit for losing hair in back of head. I tried the mouthguard but I was still snoring and my teeth started to move so I switched to CpAP hoping it would solve all my problems. Yes it makes a world of difference with my sleep and breathing but I need all of my hair! Any updates are welcome! Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
When you get a chance please add your equipment to your profile like I have mine. It will help us help you faster and better.
What mask are you using now? It would be really helpful so that we know just which straps you are talking about.
Some masks have a larger strap presence than others and the Tap Pap I have in my profile doesn't need straps.
Hair loss isn't extremely common though. Not impossible though from the friction I suppose though. There are ways to limit the friction or maybe try a different mask that doesn't rub the back of the head so much or maybe add a little padding to the straps.
Once we know what you are using we can offer better ideas.
Might want to start your own thread with your problem though. A lot of the forum members don't regularly read old threads and with a thread of your own you will get the attention you need and deserve.

I've had septoplasty, UPPP, genoglossal and hyoid advancements. The advancements reduced apnea for a couple of years, but then I needed to go back on the CPAP machine - though my pressure level dropped from 13 to 9. If I had it to do over again, I'd do the septoplasty and not do the others.
