Anyone know about a nessecity for altitude adjustment when using XPAP? I live in Wisconsin, but frequently visit my son in Colorado. I am getting my first script for Cpap Tx. today. ( After completing 7 days of at home titration ). Does one particular Xpap...C,A or B? work out better when going from one altitude to another....or does the XPAP pressure need to be changed to adjust to different altitudes?? Waiting for tips from the pros.

Of all the adjustments you can make, adjusting the altitude is the easiest, and is explained in your users manual.howdidthemovieend? wrote:Anyone know about a nessecity for altitude adjustment when using XPAP? To answer your question, it is a good idea to have your machine set to the proper altitude. I called Respironics in regard to my machine, and was told it wouldn't be a huge difference either way because the difference would be less than one half cm pressure. However, in the long run, it may make your machine work a bit harder.

The following is in the MSeries Faq.

According to its manual, my Puritan Bennett GoodKnight 420E will automatically adjust from 0 to 7800 ft. (0-2400 meter).
....Looks like they didn't expect it to be used in a hotel near the Dead Sea...

The way I read it, an MSeries machine does not automatically mean automatic altitude adjustment, despite the new box.Respironics wrote: Altitude Adjustment –The REMstar and REMstar Plus models require manual altitude adjustment (1=<2500 feet, 2=2501-5000 feet, 3=5001-7500 feet). The REMstar Pro, REMstar Auto, BiPAP Plus and BiPAP Auto models have automatic altitude adjustment.
