Is cpap causing nausea?

Post by stoverquill » Sat Nov 25, 2006 6:31 pm

I have been on auto cpap four nights now. Every day since I have experienced nausea. Is this from cpap? If so, what can I do about it?

More than likely, it a normal pressure bug, I suppose a ear infection and pressure might cause problems, but it FLU season, I never got my shot, so i'm still OK! Jim

My suggestion:
Set your machine to CFLE mode with a fixed pressure of 9 and a C-Flex setting of 2 for a couple of nights and see if you notice an improvement.

A part of it might also be just getting used to this new way of breathing at night, but you won't have the pressure changes to deal with in the mean time.

Best wishes,

I would also try dropping cflex down to #2. Just push the button on top of the machine, use the +/- keys to move arrow, push On/Off button to save change.

The nausea could be from aerophagia or swallowing of air. It can cause nausea and abdominal pain. It usually goes away in a few weeks.

If the problem is swallowing air, and it does not go away on its own, you could also have an issue with GERD. I was having the same problem and it was basically fixed by taking Prilosec for a couple of weeks.
