My Swift whistles!

Post by KimberlyinMN » Sun Nov 19, 2006 10:48 am

Egad! I just got a Swift a couple of weeks ago and have only used it twice so far. (Had to wait for sinus issues to go away.) It whistles when I inhale! I think the whistle is coming from the vent holes, but I could be wrong. I finally switched to the full face mask because I couldn't figure out how to make the whistle stop.

Has anyone had this happen and how in the heck did you fix it?

You might wana check that its nice and snug where the pieces are assembled when changing pillow sizes. I've had that happen a few times switching in between sizes for patients. Other than that , you sure ur not getting a leak ?

I put a small amount of plumber's teflon tape around each end piece. Not a lot just enough to cover the round holes. Too much keeps the one which attaches to the hose from moving freely.

I have a whistle with my breeze if I accidently put in the wrong size pillows, maybe you need to go to a larger, or smaller size.......Just a thought

I'll double-check to make sure that everything is connected tightly. That whistle was SO annoying last night.

Thanks all!
